Congestion and Parking Management at the Pinnacle of Transit Oriented Development
In addition to serving as the transportation lead for the Transit Center District Plan, Greg was the transportation planner for the majority of the high-profile skyscraper projects within the district, including the crescendo, Salesforce Tower. San Francisco's new tallest building – situated amidst a cluster of new supertall buildings, and directly adjacent to the new Transbay Transit Center – will be the epicenter of pedestrian, bicycle, bus, truck and vehicle activity in San Francisco. As with all of his downtown skyscraper projects, Greg led the transportation analysis through a smooth and uncontested environmental review.
To ensure that safe, multimodal access across and within the downtown would be preserved and enhanced in this super-dense environment, Greg worked with the sponsor to:

Relocate the project driveway from Fremont to 1st streets, to preclude conflicts with buses;

Include sidewalk corner bulbouts to maximize pedestrian space;

Design a traffic signal at the driveway to protect pedestrians while facilitating vehicle access;

Write an operations plan for the internal loading dock to eliminate blockages from truck maneuvering.
